To say we here at JMK are in shock from the announcement of last week that Saab was left at the alter by Koenigsegg would be a monumental understatement. What do we say? All signs indicated the marriage was a go. The news earlier in the week that JMK Saab would in fact be included in the future plans of the brand as a surviving dealer gave cause for celebration. Given the uncertainty our customers and staff have had to deal with that was the best news we could have received. Now this.
Where do we go from here? We take it one day at a time. We prepare for the worst and expect the best. We treat our customers as we always have, with respect and consideration of their needs and concerns. We service your Saab with our factory trained, expert Saab technicians. Business as usual; It has to be. There is no other way.
Do we have answers for you? We wish that were the case. There is currently much speculation about the future of the brand given the negated deal. Depending upon what you read there is hope on one side and the impending demise of Saab on the other. As you read the various sources understand that bad news sells better than good. If Meet The Press were around at the advent of the light bulb, they would have lamented the death of the candle.
We will refrain from guessing just for the sake of looking for a silver lining in the clouds. There are currently very good sources out the in Saab world that have in the past, been true and pure with regards to news on the brand; both good and bad. Steven Wade, the head blogger at SaabsUnited.com, has consistently been ahead of the pack when breaking news regarding Saab occurs.
Steven has proven (to me at least) from the years of reading his posts that he reports in a non biased manner without regard to his personal status given his influence with his readers. Hopefully that tradition will remain. Steven personally commits countless hours of his time to maintaining and updating the content for those Saab enthusiasts who demand to know the latest news first.
