JMK BMW Makes BMW History!!

JMK BMW in Springfield, New Jersey is excited to announce they have delivered the very first BMW ActiveE vehicle in the United States. The CEO and president of BMW North America, Ludwig Willisch, handed the keys over to the first U.S. customers of a BMW ActiveE. This will be the first of a fleet of only 700 BMW 1-Series sedans converted to a battery electric vehicle.

The ActiveE is the only car that is 100% Electric and 100% BMW, providing the performance and efficiency everyone has come to expect from The Ultimate Driving Machine®. With output of 170 horsepower and maximum torque of 184 lb-ft, the BMW ActiveE accelerates from 0–60 mph in under nine seconds. Newly developed lithium-ion batteries facilitate a driving range of up to 100 miles on a full charge.

At JMK we care about the environment. Our new BMW building was built with energy efficiency in mind.

In May 2011, JMK completed installation of a 112 KW solar panel array which is housed on the roof of our vehicle preparation building. The solar system generates enough electricity to power 97.3% of that building.

From May 2011 to December 2011, the solar panel system has generated the equivalent environmental benefit of:

Planting 1,757 trees

Driving 158, 782 passenger miles in a vehicle

Energy used in 6 standard houses each year 

JMK’s Green Initiative

1. Our new BMW building uses UV resistant glass which is highly tinted to reduce heat gain thus reducing our energy usage in the summer months

2. 97% of the lighting fixtures throughout the building are Compact Florescent light fixtures (CFL)

3. Our two decks (50,000 square feet) utilize energy efficient lighting and are controlled by motion sensors and timers.

4. Many rooms and offices are controlled by motion sensors and timers.

5. Our entire HVAC and lighting system is controlled via a pc based system which uses remote temperature sensors and light sensors to turn on and off lighting and HVAC.

6. High speed garage door have been installed in 3 of our building. These high speed doors allow vehicles to enter and exit quicker, thus allowing less heat or A/C loss and reducing our energy usage.

 

 

JMK BMW Now Offering BMW Extended Warranty!

 

BMW of North America has announced that all BMW models (except ALPINA B7) are now eligible for a Maintenance Program Upgrade which extends BMW's standard program period to 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. 

The two-year extension can be purchased at JMK BMW during the first four years of your BMW's  in-service date or 50,000 total miles. The purchase price depends on the model of vehicles you have. 

Some of the benefits of the BMW Maintenance Program include: engine oil change and filter replacement, vehicle inspections, air filter replacement, Brake pads and discs, engine drive belts, and much more.

BMW X3 Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

BMW's newest Sports Utility Vehicle earns a 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick with the highest rating in all categories. In order to be considered a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Istitute of Highway Safety, a vehicle must receive a rating of "Good" in all tests performed. The tests include frontal off-set crash, side impact, rear impact and roof/rollover crashes. 

“Safety has always been a top priority at BMW and our vehicles have always done well in IIHS tests,” said Tom Baloga, Vice-president Engineering (US) for the BMW Group. “As well as the X3 will protect its driver and passengers in a crash we believe that it is even more important that the X3 has been engineered to help the driver avoid the crash in the first place.”

In addition to protection airbags throughout the cabin, the BMW X3 also includes knee protection airbags and electronic stability control as standard features.

Successful Toys for Tots Program

This years JMK BMW Toys for Tots program was a great success! 

We filled up this BMW X5 with all of the toys donated by our employees and customers. The toys were delivered on yesterday to the Marine Corps. 

We want to thank everyone who helped make this program such a wonderful success, and who helped us bring some holiday cheer to the community!

JMK BMW is Taking Part in the 2011 Toys for Tots Program

JMK BMW is proud to take place in the 2011 Toys for Tots program this holiday season. The Toys for Tots program began in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks in Los Angeles, CA. Major Hendricks collected 5,000 toys for children in his community for Christmas 1947, the very first toy was a handmade doll. 

Today, Toys for Tots has become a widely known program in which many local businesses and schools have the oppurtunity to help out children and families in thier communities. And over more than 62 years, Toys for Tots has distributed more than 400 million toys to more than 188 million needy children! 

At JMK BMW, we are happy to be a part of another successful year for the children in the New Jersey area. From Oct. 1st through Dec. 15th, we will be collecting toys of all kinds, just bring in an UN-WRAPPED toy to the JMK Service Department and we will handle the rest. And as our way of saying "Thank you" for your support, we will offer anyone who donates a toy $50 off thier total service invoice with JMK BMW.
